Local Customs: Cavern Sound features recordings from Cavern Studio, located within an actual cave in Independence, Missouri. Between 1967 and 1973, an array of regional garage rock, psych rock and funk bands recorded within its wide open space which produced a great natural reverb.
The compilation includes many previously unreleased recordings as well as tracks originally released on Kansas City labels such as Pearce Records and Cave Records.
