Konkani Songs: Music From Goa Made In Bombay

Konkani music originates from Goa, India, a Portuguese colony from 1510 to 1961. Their music had taken on Latin influences that were introduced by their colonizers, which included tropical rhythms, mandolins and trumpets. Konkani music seems to have more in common with their Latin history than the nearby Bollywood record industry. The songs featured on Konkani Songs were originally recorded between the 1950s and 1970s.
